The Junior Girls Powerhouse Greys took on a very tough defensive Leamington 3 squad this past Monday night. Once again the Grey’s bats were solid, but Leamington’s defense proved to be stingy with the hometown team ultimately losing 13-5.
However, the score didn’t reflect the play on the diamond. All 12 girls hit the ball hard and there were several great defensive attempts made in the field.
While not all of those plays were completed, the girls are growing and understanding where plays need to be made.
Game notes: Tori and Jasmine both had three hits, Lily Warkentin, Isabella and Hailey each had a pair and Bria, Kylie, Mia, Riley and Isla all had singles.
Lily Wood and Kenzie both hit the ball hard during their combined 5 at-bats but Leamington managed to make some great defensive plays to keep them off the base-paths.
The coaches are very proud of how the girls are competing, learning and having fun.
Next up, the Greys will be taking their talents to south Leamington for a tilt against Leamington 2 at 1PM on Saturday.
See you there!
