Grade 7 students from Jack Miner Public School took the lead, organizing and planning a spring drive to support the Kingsville Food Bank. How brilliant of them to create themes for each day!
The photo says it all!
During the week of April 24th, students accepted donations in the following themes:
Mixed Monday – breakfast mixes like pancakes, waffles
Peanut Pandemonium – peanut butter jars, jams and other spreads
Oatmeal Thursday – hot cereals
Free for All Friday – any items someone would benefit from
Megan Mulcaster (Food Bank Board Member) reached out to Mr. Fetter, one of the Grade 7 teachers, to begin the conversation and they were off and running.
The need at the food bank is higher than ever with the rising cost of living. We are also seeing more clients that are working to support themselves and their families, but their wages are not enough to cover the basic cost of rising rent, bills, gas and food.
Kingsville is indeed a giving community!
