Kingsville Tennis Association is proud to announce that two of our original founding members, Harry Roettele and Arleigh Fysh, have been awarded the 2022 Tennis Canada Distinguished Service Award.
Both Harry and Arleigh have been involved in Kingsville Tennis Association for over 50 years and their foresight and planning have been instrumental in building the strong club that we have today.
Tennis Canada directors unanimously approved their nominations due to their significant long-term contribution to the growth and promotion of tennis in Kingsville.
This year, twenty-two worthy recipients from across Canada will receive the Distinguished Service Award. They will be honoured at a ceremony in recognition of their award at the 2023 National Bank Open presented by Rogers.
Kingsville Tennis Association is very proud of the partnership that Harry and Arleigh forged with the town of Kingsville which continues to this day. They were the driving force behind building the courts that we have today at no cost to the taxpayers. In this partnership, the town provided the land for the courts while KTA agreed to be financially responsible for all repairs and maintenance.
In recent years, KTA has received some assistance from the town toward the expenses of keeping the courts in good repair. Kingsville has been very supportive in fostering tennis for its citizens.
Congratulations Harry and Arleigh!
