Branch Clean Up and Additional Yard Waste Pick Up March 30

Cleanup efforts continue following the ice storm in February. Town staff have been working to clear the large, loose branches. Cottam, Ruthven and most rural areas were completed last week (except for County roads, which our contractor is completing). This past week, our team moved into Kingsville subdivisions and urban areas.

At this time, our staff are collecting yard waste bags as they may grow soggy before the collection date. We have cleared enough to assess the work scope and have decided an additional yard waste pick-up is warranted. We ask for your assistance in the remaining cleanup efforts required to bring our town back in shape.

Yard Waste Pick Up March 30

We have scheduled a special Yard Waste Pick Up on Thursday, March 30, 2023.

This collection is separate from what we are doing to chip the branches.

The contractor will collect yard waste collection bags and smaller branches tied in bundles. While we asked for large branches to remain loose for chipping, we ask you to tie any small branches into bundles for Yard Waste Collection.

Please ensure your bundles are no more than 45 pounds and three feet high by four feet long. The diameter of the branches cannot exceed three inches.

Our contractor will bypass loose piles.

Please refer to our Garbage Collection Calendar for specific details.

Thank You

We appreciate your continued patience. We have not had a weather event that has caused this much tree damage to our area in at least thirty years, and door-to-door chipping is not a standard service we offer. We commend our staff for their tireless efforts in continuing this cleanup while juggling their other responsibilities.

If you have any questions, please email us at requests@kingsville.ca.
