Town Adds Yard Waste Pickup Date and Begins Post-Storm Cleanup

Yard waste collection date added

In response to the recent ice storm, the Town of Kingsville has added a yard waste collection date on Thursday, March 2, 2023. Please ensure you meet the yard waste requirements outlined on page six of our collection calendar, or our contractor will bypass your collection:

  • Brush and branches should be tied in bundles no more than 45 lbs (20 kg) and no more than 3′ high (.9 m) by 4′ long (1.2 m) – the diameter cannot exceed 3″ (7.5 cm)
  • Any untied, loose piles of brush will NOT be collected

Chipping larger branches

Municipal staff have also begun clearing and chipping larger branches and downed trees from parks and municipal right-of-ways.

If you have limbs too large to handle through the yard waste collection and cannot break them down yourself, you can place them at the curb for Town staff to clear. Please ensure that branches do not extend into the roadway or sidewalk or create a hazard to motorists or pedestrians.

If you are piling branches on a corner property, the maximum height is 2.5 feet. Anything higher creates a sight line issue.

Branches that fell on private property, from privately owned trees with limbs too large to bring to the curb, will be the resident’s responsibility to remove from their property.

Timelines

Due to the number of downed branches, we anticipate clean-up efforts will take some time. We appreciate your patience.
