My name is Sherry Ducedre and I am proud to officially announce my candidacy for Public School Board Trustee representing the Town of Kingsville and the Town of Essex.

As you look through the list of various Election Candidates you may come across names you know and names you do not know. Mine is a name you may not know so let me take a moment to share who I am and what I am about.

“Why do you want to run”? This is a question I have been asked when telling my family and friends I was going to run for Trustee. And here is the answer. I recently read something that referenced how at a certain point in life, more of your days are gone than the days you may have left ahead of you. And I realized as I take in that statement I want to do more. To this point this is what I have done.

My experience exceeding 13 years as a Committee of Adjustment member has provided experience utilizing strong communication and public speaking in an open meeting forum and making decisions based on legislation, policies and procedures. Appointed members of this Committee must have a commitment to attend monthly meetings; have an understanding of Zoning By-Laws, the Official Plan and other relevant policies; they must also contribute time, knowledge, skill and expertise to fulfill the Committee’s mandate.

Partner this with my 21+ years of professional employment within the Corporation of the City of Windsor providing service to the community and gaining knowledge of political structures, I believe, has prepared me for this next step. I hope this information gives you insight into the type of Candidate I am, one that is committed to working hard on your behalf with a drive to do more in the community and hopefully being a voice for the Parents as Public School Board Trustee.
