Is This a Sign that Spring Is Around the Corner?

Joan Murray Barton was a Kingsville girl, transplanted to the Bruce Peninsula after she retired. That’s a perfect place for her to enjoy cold water swimming.

Joan shared some pictures of her love affair with icy water with the Kingsville Times earlier in the winter. Here we have some more shots of Joan as the season wanes.

Joan loves cold water swimming, even when it’s not really water. Right now, the water has gone from frigid to ice … to slush.

Since Joan comes from Kingsville, we’d like to claim her as our local weather forecaster. And we’re hoping that her prediction would be that some real spring-like weather is just around the corner now.

How would she know, you might ask? Well, the ice has turned to slush. Now if it would only warm up …

  1. Love what you wrote Jody , so fun ! I think folks will have a smile reading your article and may have a shiver looking at me🥶 . I would like to let folks know that I have recently realized that what I do is extreme. It’s easy for me as my body is conditioned but after hearing so many OMG’s it has dawned on me that it is extreme and not for everyone! 😁🥶🏊‍♀️🥶
