It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Darlton “Darl” Henry Edwards, born in Leamington, Ontario, Canada, January 4, 1938, succumbing on March 17, 2022 in Georgia. Left to cherish their fond memories is his loving wife Mary Carter Edwards of Martinez, GA.
Darl’s wife of 35 years, Linda J. Brush Edwards (1/28/1940-10/11/93) preceded him in death; Father: Darelton R Edwards (1886-1956); Mother: Mildred A Smith (1896-1957); Foster Mom that lovingly raised Darl as her own, Melinda Maurier; Brother: Morris “Moe” Maurier; Sister: Edna M (Frederick) Sands; Siblings: Jack, Essaline, Mildred, Shirley; DiL: Lorrie A Williams Edwards (10/29/1961-5/9/2016); Nephew: Ken Edwards.

Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren: Sarah (Kevin) Weston, Oaklyn Foy, Abigail Edwards; Andrew (Kelli R), Grace Edwards, Ashley E (Hubert), Derek, Lora Finaldi; Rachel, Benjamin Cripps, Darl (Shannon) Darius, Jaden Edwards, Adam (Lisa), Gia, Liana, Troy Edwards, Eric (Samantha), Enzo Edwards, Kyle (Krista) Alice Edwards, Haines, Rowan, Bryce Milnor; Carter, Boone Thornton; Kayla G (Jared) Stanford, Kaitlyn G (Allen) Martin, Jackson Gilmer.
Also remembered by several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Darl went into the Apprenticeship Program to work while in High School training to become an electrician. He worked so many overtime hours to provide for his family, driving from Canada to Detroit almost seven days a week to General Motors, Hamtramck Division. After 30 years & meeting Mary, he said he was selling his farm to go South.
Darl loved retirement and the freedom it gave him to ride around in his truck, explore the shores of Clarks Hill Lake or riding in his boat, most of the time with “his girls”, our Yorkies, his favorites named Minnie & Lill. He learned to be a GA BULLDAWG FAN right away & a true fan of Evans High School Football.
A graveside service for Darl will be held at Greenhill Cemetery, Kingsville, on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 2 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Kendrick Funeral Home, Kingsville.
