The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP) Harrow food bank was established circa 1986 to serve the poor within the boundaries of St. Anthony of Padua parish. Adjacent SSVP Conferences provide for those outside our perimeter. Our charity was registered with CRA in 2004.
We are fully staffed by volunteers of various cultural and spiritual backgrounds who embrace charity, service and sharing. The food bank is located in leased space at the Harrow soccer complex. Funding is solely dependent upon the generosity of Harrow area businesses and residents.
Non-perishable food donations are collected at the Harrow Mennonite Church and by appointment at the soccer complex. This food is distributed to all local families struggling to survive on low incomes.

In 2021, families served averaged 65 per month. Monetary funds are allocated via grocery store vouchers for needy families to purchase fresh food items.
Our mission is to help those we serve in all possible ways with love, respect, justice and joy, which adheres to the guidelines of the Society of St Vincent de Paul National Council of Canada.
Giving freely of our time and talents, we have personal contact with the poor, attentively listening to their concerns without judgment to build solidarity and understanding in our thriving community. In this way, we relieve suffering, provide hope and food security.
