On Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021 the Ministry of Health made an announcement regarding booster doses and as I have been throughout this pandemic, I am here to keep you informed on vaccination efforts and how you can access your vaccinations.
3rd Dose Eligibility
In addition to those previously eligible (see my Kingsville Times article) people aged 70+, healthcare workers, First Nations, Inuit and Metis adults, and those who received a complete dose of a viral vector (AstraZeneca) vaccine will be eligible if they had their second dose at least 6 months earlier.
There is also a change to the dosage you may receive as a booster if you get Spikevax (Moderna) for your 3rd dose.
Patients over 70 (and those previously eligible for a 3rd dose) will get a full dose of 100 mcg of Moderna.
Those under 70 will receive a half-dose of 50 mcg.
Those receiving Comirnaty (Pfizer) will continue to receive the full dose of 30 mcg.
We have appointments available for Comirnaty (Pfizer) vaccines for 1st, 2nd and 3rd doses from Nov. 3 to Nov.6, and on Nov. 8.
Please call (519) 712-8800 to book an appointment.
This link provides an estimated timeline for the Ministries current booster plan, but that is subject to change: https://www.tvo.org/…/heres-ontarios-booster-shot-plan
