COVID-19 Vaccines Available at Main Street Pharmacy October 13-16

Hello everyone. We have some updates on the COVID vaccine including 3rd dose eligibility and our next available appointment dates.

We are a Pfizer/Comirnaty vaccination site and will be running appointments Wednesday October 13th through Saturday October 16th. Please call the pharmacy at 519-712-8800 to schedule an appointment as we are not accepting walk-ins.

Eligibility Update

1st Dose
Pfizer/Comirnaty: Anyone who will be 12 in 2021 is eligible

Moderna/Spikevax: Anyone who is 18 or older is eligible
*Due to a slightly increased risk pericarditis and myocarditis Comirnaty is the preferred vaccine for anyone 12-24 years old.

2nd Dose

If your first dose was Pfizer/Comirnaty you are eligible 21 days after your first dose

If your first dose was Moderna/Spikevax you are eligible 28 days after your first dose

If your first dose was AstraZeneca/Vaxzevria you are eligible 8 weeks after your first dose

3rd Dose
You may be eligible for a third dose if you meet one of the following criteria and it has been more than 2 months since your second dose:

Criteria

-Active treatment (or treatment within the past 3 months) for cancer with a letter confirming this from your oncologist or other specialist

-Patients who have had a solid organ transplant and are on immunosuppressive therapy with a letter from your transplant team or other specialist

-Patients with CART therapy with a letter from your transplant team or other specialist

-Patients with hematopoeic stem cell transplants in the last 2 years with a letter from your transplant team or other specialist

-Patients with a condition that causes primary immunodeficiency (DiGeorge, Wiskott-Aldrich and others) with a letter from your specialist

-Patients with AIDs or Stage 3 HIV infection with a letter from your specialist

-Patients on certain medications. If you bring a current prescription or medication bottle (Note the prescription does not need to be filled where you are getting your vaccine, just presented at that time to prove you are on a qualifying medication.) The medication list by class is below, unfortunately it is impossible to list all the qualifying medications here without tripling the length of this post. Qualifying medication list for 3rd doses

High Dose steroids for long term use, antimetabolites, Calcineurin inhibitors, JAK inhibitors, Anti-TNF agents, certain antiinflammatories, Anti-CD20 inhibitors, IL-1RA agents, anti interleukin agents, selective T-Cell blockers and S1PR agents.
