One Book, One County

We’re very excited about this program. Many communities have a version of a community book club, known as “One Book, One Community.” You’re the first to hear about Essex County Library’s launch of “One Book, One County!”

This is a wonderful opportunity to bring individuals together in the community through a shared reading experience. Our feature title will be available as an eBook and in print. All you need is an Essex County Library card, available for free to all residents of Windsor-Essex. No Holds, No Waitlists! So, get to the title you’re thinking!

We are proud to present “Emancipation Day” by Wayne Grady:

“Steeped in jazz and big-band music, spanning pre- and post-war Windsor-Detroit, St. John’s, Newfoundland, and 1950s Toronto, this is an arresting, heartwrenching novel about fathers and sons, love and sacrifice, race relations and a time in our history when the world was on the cusp of momentous change.”

Available for download Monday, July 26 on Overdrive. For some background on the author and other works, check the publisher’s page.

Next week: Hometown Proud Giveaways
