The Town of Kingsville is pleased to announce that the Carnegie Arts & Visitor Centre, 28 Division Street South, will reopen on Saturday, July 17, 2021. Town staff and the Arts Society of Kingsville (ASK) will manage the hours of operation together through the summer, with the possibility of becoming a permanent home for the society if the venture proves mutually beneficial.
“Our province has moved to Stage Three of its Roadmap to Reopen, and regionally, our COVID-19 numbers are low,” said Chief Administrative Officer John Norton. “We’re looking forward to reopening our arts and visitor centre to give people the opportunity to speak to our Tourism Coordinator about the Town, connect with the BIA, see the great work our Art Society is doing, and even purchase some of the art on display.”
The Kingsville BIA and the Kingsville Music Society (Formerly Sunparlour Folk Music Society) continue to have presence at the Carnegie, using the space to further their organization’s objectives. ASK will be located upstairs and in addition to coordinating art exhibits, they will run small art classes, collaborate with other community groups, co-host family fun activities on the Carnegie parquette, and act as Tourism Ambassadors in the community.
The Carnegie will be open to walk-in traffic six days a week, but Visitor Centre personnel and ASK volunteers will keep different hours throughout the week.

“The Carnegie is a beautiful building with a rich history in our Town,” said Mayor Nelson Santos. “We’re very excited to see the doors opening back up for our visitors, and of course, to give our art community a place to shine. We’re grateful to have members of ASK providing our community with even more arts and culture opportunities, and we’re happy to support this relationship.”
Arts Society of Kingsville Board Member Rose Roach says the Society is ecstatic about having a location to display their work regularly. “It’s amazing to see the talent we have in our town, it just blows me away. A lot of these artists have home-based studios, and they now have an opportunity to show their art in a professional setting.” With this new arrangement, the art exhibits at the Carnegie will rotate frequently.
