On May 20, 2021, the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted the 30th anniversary of the Business Excellence Awards (BEA). These highly competitive awards recognize the achievements and successful contributions of business leaders and organizations across the Windsor-Essex County region.
This year, Dr. Maxwell Abraham received some great news when he learned that was taking home the Young Professional of the Year award.
As owner of Abraham Orthodontics located in Leamington, Dr. Abraham has worked tirelessly to build a world-class atmosphere and team for his patients. He lives by his motto, “Service is not a luxury,” while ensuring that his patients have direct access to him at all times. He keeps his services both affordable and accessible to everyone living in the area.
Dr. Abraham’s office offers the Invisalign aligners teeth straightening system, currently ranked in the top 1% in North America, as well as traditional braces, for patients of all ages. Adults currently make up almost 50% of his patients!
The Kingsville Times had an opportunity to speak with Dr. Abraham about his recent win.

What does it mean to you to win this award, the Young Professional of the Year for all of Windsor and Essex County?
It has been very humbling and rewarding to receive this recognition in creating beautiful smiles and for our work out in the community. We were a finalist the last two years and another time before for New Business. It’s so surprising to be given this showcase as we serve mainly the county, especially Kingsville and Leamington, where I was born and raised.
What criteria were used to assess the candidates in this category?
Everything is looked at from leadership, community work, service, business acumen and success.

Do you have any business advice you can offer to other young people who are just launching their businesses?
The BEAs are truly a premiere event that shine a light on incredible work being done in all sectors in Windsor-Essex. I am so proud to represent this area, specifically to show how in the smallest communities, young professionals can affect great change, even more than larger centres. This extends beyond our patients to the community as a whole.
We developed great partnerships with local schools, especially KPS and St. John’s to continually deliver new programming and funding initiatives, to further enhance the beautiful smiles we create for life. Looking deep beyond population numbers will reveal that small communities create opportunity for a loyal, passionate and family-like customer or patient base, as they are really your neighbours, friends and sometimes your actual family!
Dr. Abraham reminds us that “reinvestment in the community you serve is above all most rewarding, and will be driving continued success for generations to come in your profession or business!”
