Walter Charles Lethbridge (July 25 1938 – April 20 2021)

Walter Charles Lethbridge

Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on April 20, 2021 at the age of 82. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Joan.  Beloved husband of 61 years to Muriel (nee Daley). Loving father of Cindy Roland (John), Danny Lethbridge (Sue), and the late Kelly Ann Schutz.

Cherished and devoted grandfather of Nathan, Connor (Katelynne), Sebastian, Darby, Maddie and Tori. Dearest brother of Jerry Lethbridge (Hope), Penny Lamb (the late John), Marnie Pasicznik and David Lethbridge (Sandi). Dear brother in-law of Bev Gamble and Marty Garrett.

Walter was a Grand Knight of the St. John de Brebeuf Knights of Columbus, Kingsville and transferred to St. Anne’s, Tecumseh K of C where they presented him with a Life Membership. Walter served with the RCMP in Kingston and Windsor Police Services for many years. His next career was with his Dad operating the Lethbridge’s Department Store in Kingsville.

One of Walter’s favourite hobbies was golfing. He was a proud member of the Kingsville Golf and Country Club and in his later years, he was a member of the Senior Golf League at Dominion Golf Course. His greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, a private family service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Interment will follow at Heavenly Rest.

If you desire, donations to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre or the Hospice of Erie Shores, Leamington would be greatly appreciated.

  1. As a child growing up in Kingsville, Mr. Lethbridge was a pillar of our community. Standing guard on the corner of town, so tall, always in a suit shaking hands and waving hello to seemingly every person in town – who he greeted by name.
    As a teenager & young man I was lucky enough to be one of the many kids Walt & Mur treated like one of their own. They were ever present at our high school, cheering at every basketball game & applauding at every music concert.
    Walt was a good man and his legacy is his three children who grew to be wonderfully kind, loving and funny humans who have always made me smile & laugh . . . so THANK YOU WALT, rest forever in peace.
