OPP Honours Volunteer Appreciation Week: April 18-24

(ESSEX CTY, ON) – To volunteer is to give of yourself in service to a cause. It is about freely giving your time to help an organization, your community, or an individual.  To volunteer means to act on behalf of something or someone else. It is done by people with a desire to do well.

Inspector Glenn Miller, Detachment Commander, Essex County, states

“This week is Volunteer Appreciation Week and while we are taking a few minutes to acknowledge the time and effort you give to this organization this week please know you are always appreciated. The success of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is due to the efforts of many community partners coming together for the betterment of society.

Whether you are an Auxiliary Officer volunteering directly for OPP or a partner agency we appreciate the effort you give each day. We have too many partners to name but know that your efforts are recognized and appreciated.

To the Staff of Essex County OPP that also volunteer to so many agencies throughout Essex County the time you donate outside of your duties is commended and speaks volumes of the personnel we employ throughout the OPP. We are proud of you.

No matter where you give of your time on behalf of Essex County OPP, Thank you.”
