Jordan Scott-Trepanier is the Director of the Estate of Health Holistic Wellness Centre & Yoga Studio. She and her mother Heather Scott are co-owners of this new undertaking which sprang into being from their vision for the people of Kingsville and surrounding area.
They believed that our community would benefit from having access to a place that offered support in healing, growth and wellness. And they had a deep desire to provide such a space.
The Kingsville Times recently interviewed Jordan Scott-Trepanier about the Estate of Health Holistic Wellness Centre & Yoga Studio.
How would you describe your services and products?
We offer holistic wellness services and products that can assist people in finding balance in their body, mind and spirit. Our vast array of treatments range from Massage Therapy & Reflexology to Reiki & Holistic Health Counselling. We also offer a full yoga and meditation class schedule.
We’re excited about our outdoor Day Spa with hydrotherapy features including our pool, hot tub, and sauna which will be available this summer. On-site, we have a small boutique featuring natural health and wellness products from local creators, including our very own line of tea and aromatherapy!
All of our services are listed with details on our website www.estateofhealth.ca.
Who are your target clients?
Those who are looking to improve their health, build self-awareness, reduce stress and discover practices that can help them cultivate wellness in all areas of life!
What advice would you give to others who might be considering starting a business?
When your passion and skills align, you’ve got yourself a great business idea! Discover how you want to serve others using your innate gifts, and allow that to drive you in business.
Patience is very important, as well as dedication and self-care. Starting a business is very demanding on your time and energy, so you need to make sure you love what you’re doing, and that you take time for your own wellness to keep that source of energy full.
What do your clients say about your business?
“That was amazing!” Our clients love our services and find the atmosphere here to be very relaxing and calming.
What are your plans for business growth? New services and/or products that clients can look out for?
We are highly anticipating our Day Spa being a main attraction here, making us more than just a wellness centre, but also a destination!
We are proud partners with many local B&B’s, hotels and restaurants, and we are happily putting together packages so that people can come to Kingsville to take time to unwind, recharge and take in all that our town has to offer!
We look forward to many years of offering a restful place for healing for locals and those from afar as well, especially when we start offering retreats here. Each of our treatment rooms are also set up as bedrooms, with ensuite bathrooms and murphy beds. We look forward to hosting guests on-site for full immersion into an environment made for relaxation, healing and growth.
What is your business motto?
“Take Time for Wellness”
How has COVID affected your business and what have you done to COVID-proof it?
We were hopeful that we could open last autumn, but COVID-19 had delayed so many things in the process of getting this 162-year-old home renovated, as well as having the landscaping and outdoor amenities created.
We were able to open briefly in December of 2020, before our region went into lockdown, and it has been a slow start since we entered the restrictions of the “red” code. We are happy to be operational now, despite the fact that our capacity due to COVID regulations is extremely low.
We are taking a positive spin on it though, seeing how this slower-than-anticipated opening is allowing us the time to work out all the kinks that a startup typically goes through before we get busy.
We have a reduced capacity for our yoga classes ensuring that there are 3 meters of space in between our students. For treatments, our practitioners and clients are still wearing masks to eliminate the spread of COVID-19, and we book appointments so that there is no overlap between our patrons, and no one feels rushed or uncomfortable.
We also have plenty of sanitizers throughout our facility here, and we are cleaning high-contact areas and bathrooms frequently. We are fortunate that we have ample rooms to dedicate to our clients and practitioners so that there is a steady flow of one-way traffic, reducing the threat of transmission.
