Doreen Plancke (January 25, 1933 – December 15, 2020)

PLANCKE, Doreen (nee Robertson)
Born in Windsor, ON on January 25, 1933, Doreen was the daughter of the late Thomas and Alice Robertson and was the devoted wife of the late Gilbert (Gib) Plancke (2020) for 67 years. Doreen was the youngest of twelve children and was the last remaining link to her family chain.

She was the dearest mother of Alice Macksoud (Chris) and Andrew Plancke (Rina). Her greatest role was as a loving and kind grandmother who showed unconditional love to her grandsons, Kyle Flewelling (Jessica), Jared Plancke, Scott Plancke and dear sweet Kaden Macksoud.

She was predeceased by brothers, Thomas, Robert, Harold (Vange), George (Norma), Austin and Kaye Robertson (Leila) and sisters, May Pringle (Bev), Verna Ruston (Art), Olive Stockwell (Gordon), Thelma Johnstone (John) and Louise Storms (Russel), as well as sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Regina and John Wilson. She is survived by brother-in-law, Henry Plancke (Joan) of Windsor.

Doreen was most proud of her 34 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dearest friend, Geraldine Seward Dawson and godson, Timothy Paul Dawson of Leamington and dear friend and neighbour, Jean-Paul and Sue Marentette.

Doreen was a charter member of the Ethyl M. Blackwell Anglican Church Women for over 50 years. She was a Past President of the Kingsville Horticultural Society and Past President of the Kingsville Heritage Society. Among Doreen’s many interests were the joy of singing in the church choir and the fellowship that came when making pies and working in the church kitchen, and the weekly renewal of her Christian faith.

A private memorial service for Doreen will be held at Kendrick Funeral Home with burial in Church of the Epiphany Cemetery. A celebration of Doreen’s life will be held at a later date when we can all gather together and celebrate her wonderful life.

In lieu of flowers, persons wishing to do so may consider a donation to Church of the Epiphany or Kingsville Horticultural Society.
