For many years, the Windsor/ Essex County Humane Society celebrated Black Friday with a major pet adoption promotion.  This year, we’re using Cyber Monday instead to remind people that they can now find a new furry friend online!

Before Covid-19, the idea of shelters adopting out animals through a virtual process was relatively unheard of.  As a result of the pandemic, shelters across North America are thinking more outside of the box and have learned that an online adoption process works just as effectively as in person adoptions.

To date in 2020, the Humane Society has adopted out 2,285 animals, with more than 1,700 of these adoptions being “virtual”.  We want to send a big thank you this “Cyber Meownday” to all our wonderful adopters who have been patient with the new adoption process.  To check out available animals, or apply to adopt, please visit www.windsorhumane.org.
