The weatherman is predicting snow so this is a good time to remind everyone of the Town of Kingsville’s winter control policies. Be aware that on-street parking is not allowed during a winter snow event between midnight and 6 a.m. Parking on the street in that situation netsĀ a $75 fine.
The Town’s website outlines its winter control policies:
“It can be difficult to plow municipal routes, sidewalks and parking lots. Please remember that the Town of Kingsville has winter control policies.
“Please remove all portable items, including basketball nets, from the roadways and sidewalks. This will prevent any damages from occurring.
“Municipal sidewalks and parking lots will be plowed after snow and drifting events.
“Snow accumulations of 8 cm or more must be removed with 12 to 16 hours after the storm has ended. This also includes snow drifting events. All available staff and equipment are dispatched immediately. They remain until all roads are safe for public travel.
“Parking is prohibited on municipal streets from November 15 to April 15 between 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Vehicles parked on the street may be towed. The owner must pay the towing and storage charges.
“We appreciate your patience and co-operation during winter months.”
