Edward “Chris” Christopher Slabbekoorn
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on November 9, 2020 at the age of 64 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Tamara Slabbekoorn (nee Hiar). Loving father of Amy Slabbekoorn, Janine (Vince) Mastronardi and Blair Slabbekoorn and stepfather of Mark Elliott, Kyle Elliott and Shana (Kenneth) Willingham. Cherished grandpa and opa to Morgan, Breeann, Eli, Enzo, Mark, Gavin, Brock, Tristan and Everett.
Survived by his mother, Wilhelmina Slabbekoorn (nee Van Heyningen). Brother of Astrid (Tom) Sudds. Also remembered by 1 niece and 1 nephew, extended family, and lifelong friends. Preceded in death by his father Quinten Slabbekoorn and sister Virginia Slabbekoorn.
Chris owned and operated Signature Gardens. He had a love for landscape design specializing in various types of boulders and water features. He was most passionate and had the most love for his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. A special heartfelt thank you goes to the caregivers and staff of Iler Lodge, Essex, where Chris had been being loved and cared for the last 4 years. They have all really become family.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Kendrick Funeral Home, Kingsville. Those wishing to attend visitation are asked to visit www.Kendrickfuneralhome.com to book an appointment under Chris’s website. Only those with an appointment will be allowed to visit with the family and masks are mandatory.
