Festival’s Great Migration Paint-OUT Begins Thursday, Oct. 15

Local artists are making an early start to the festivities on Thursday, Oct. 15 with the Great Migration Paint-OUT, which runs through Oct. 18. They could be anywhere. You’ll see them out at their easels in a plein air painting event. Watch as works of art appear before your eyes.

The weather may have taken a cooler turn, just in time for the Migration Festival this weekend, but that won’t dampen the spirits of the people of Kingsville. Rain has a way of bringing change to outdoor scheduling as well. But sooner or later the sun will have to shine and painters have to paint!

Hunting for Painters

The Migration Festival is having a different kind of scavenger hunt. The goal is to track down artists who are involved in the Great Migration Paint-OUT. The search area is within the municipality of Kingsville’s boundaries — Albuna Road to the Arner Town Line, from Lake Erie to Road 8. If you can collect four business cards from different artists, you can be entered in a draw for an original painting by a local artist.

Grovedale Arts and Culture Centre Event

Paintings will be on exhibit and for sale on Sunday, Oct. 18 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Grovedale Arts and Culture Centre, at 103 Park Street, Kingsville. There will also be a student art show at this location on October 18.
