The Mississagi ran aground in the Kingsville Harbour on Saturday October 17, 2020. The ship was to deliver a load of aggregate but spent several hours working to free herself, disrupting ferry service. Finally free, the ship left without delivering her load only to return the next day when lake levels rose and she successfully entered the harbour.
Built in 1943, the bulk carrier is listed as 189 metres long and a gross tonnage of 10,588 tons and has been working the Great Lakes for decades.
