LTW Transit is a bus system running from Leamington to Windsor and making stops in Kingsville and Essex. Or rather, it was running. But service had to come to a full stop this past March during the COVID-19 lockdown. While this was considered necessary at that time it caused dismay in all who had cheered the bus system’s advent only a short time earlier.
But LTW Transit is back! Service will start up again on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020. In the beginning no fares will be required although that will change at some point. As is the case everywhere else in these days of COVID, some things will have changed.
Transit Windsor has a mandatory face mask policy. This means all riders must wear a non-medical mask while on the bus, with the exceptions of children less than two years of age and those whose medical conditions or disabilities would be adversely affected by a mask.
Only passengers who have accessibility needs may come in the front doors of the bus. There will be space for one person in a wheelchair at a time. All other passengers must use the rear doors to enter and to disembark.
