At the end of April, 2020, our town was surprised by the unfortunate news that the Kingsville Reporter, after 144 years of informing, enlightening and entertaining our community, would no longer be published.
We heard the collective concerns of the citizens and decided to waste no time in preparing a new, online edition of a community paper.
Welcome to the launch of our new hometown newspaper, The Kingsville Times!
The Times will be available to you every hour of every day, an online place where you will find all the community news needed to keep you up-to-date with the goings-on around town, along with an opportunity for you to participate and shape the content of our paper.
You may recognize some of the regular weekly contributors and columns that we have all grown to love like Dr Gifford-Jones and the Bygone Days.
The Times will also feature local announcements of weddings, anniversaries, births, obituaries, and graduations as well as updates from our churches, schools, local government and community groups.
What you won’t find is national or international news that is already available elsewhere. Our aim is to deliver news covering the Town of Kingsville and the surrounding communities, and to celebrate all the great things that this area has to offer.
While we have launched here on Facebook as a first step, you will soon find us online at www.kingsvilletimes.ca with more content covering local news, sports, events, announcements, editorials and lifestyle articles.
We will continue to share news on Facebook, and plans are in the works for a printable online copy to ensure that we can reach those in our senior community who may not have easy access to our website.
Would you happen to have any old photos of the pavilion down at Lakeside Park. I understand it used to be called Surfside 3. I roller skated there in the 60’s. I’ve seen photos of the inside all dolled up for weddings, but could never find any of the days when we skated. Any help will be appreciated.
Best wishes for continued success .
You have come a long way from the little girl with her sister who watched your UNCLE LES & I shoot pool in your parents Rec Room ( ( playing hooky from K.D.H.S.)
