The Centre uses space within Kingsville Community Church, and is normally open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, from 9 a.m. to noon.
KCC opened in 2016, and is a not-for-profit organization run by a Board of Directors. The Director, Lynn, relies on a group of wonderful volunteers to host workshops and run programs.
We have partnered with many organizations such as the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, Windsor Essex Community Health Centre, and Westover Treatment Centre, to name a few.
Local businesses host workshops, including Main Street Pharmacy and Eyes, here in Kingsville.
Our volunteers are members of the community, and lead the following programs:
Advocacy for those needing community or government assistance
Tai Chi and Self-Defense
Reflexology
Device Advice
Individual/couple/family counselling
Addictions counselling
Essentrics Tone and Stretch
Milk Bag Creations
Yarn Craft Time (knitting, crocheting, etc.)
Our Café area is open for people to come read the paper or surf the Net on our free Wi-Fi. There is a computer and printer available, at no cost, for assistance with job search and resume printing. While KCC is open, we serve coffee and refreshments.
All of the above listed programs and more are offered at NO COST to residents in Kingsville and all of Essex County.
Due to COVID-19, we will be resuming programs on Tuesdays ONLY very slowly, and we will be following our local Health Unit’s guidelines to re-open further.
As of June 16th, you can visit our Community Garden when the Church Office is open, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Community Garden is harvesting leaf lettuce and radishes now.
Individual, couple and family counselling is available with Diane on Tuesday mornings, 9 a.m. to noon. Addiction counselling is available with Dale.
For counselling services, please call the Centre, leave your name and a contact number and someone will call you back to arrange an appointment. You may also send us an email and someone will make arrangements with you.
We ask that you only attend the Centre if you are free of COVID-19 symptoms and have not had contact with anyone who has COVID-19. Please observe hand sanitizing and distancing measures.
The Community Garden has a Sanitization Station with hand sanitizer and surface sanitizer which we ask that you use BEFORE entering the Community Garden area.
