Since the formation of the Kingsville-Gosfield Heritage Society in October 1975, Society members have actively collected archival materials related to the local history of the Kingsville-Gosfield area.
The Kingsville Archives was eventually created to be the repository of this collection and, after several years, found a permanent home in our specially designated space at the rear of the Kingsville Public Library. This was officially opened on May 15, 2010.
Since then, volunteers have been kept busy recording and preserving thousands of documents and photographs which have been placed in our care. Photos and documents are carefully placed in acid-free storage. Family historians and researchers have come from all over to search for information on their ancestors and local history.
We will be pleased to discuss possible donations of your special family documents and photos. Unfortunately, since we are not a museum and have limited space, we are unable to handle items such as furniture, clothing, etc.
The Kingsville Archives is usually open to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to noon, and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., but, due to the present COVID-19 situation, adjustments are being made. However, volunteers are continuing to work in the Archives and will be happy to respond to requests for information and assistance.
